Xpeng has planned several new features this year. One of the most important will be the Xpeng G6. This family electric SUV will position itself at the heart of the Chinese market. And of course, it will soon arrive in Europe.
Of course, the Tesla Model Y is the standard model for most electric SUVs, whether Chinese or not. But in the case of the Xpeng G6, the comparison is stark.
Thus, its dimensions of 4753 mm long, 1920 mm wide, 1650 mm and wheelbase of 2890 mm are almost identical to those of the Model Y (4750 / 1921 / 1624 / 2890 mm respectively). Which says a lot about his priority target, as does his style. Because if the Xpeng signature passes through the strips of tapered lights at the front (now continuous) and at the rear, the curvature of the flag and the inclination of the tailgate would almost allow the two vehicles to be superimposed.
From a technical point of view, MIT confirms a rear-wheel drive version of 218 kW or 4-wheel drive of 358 kW (218 rear + 140 front), both with a maximum speed of 202 km/h. On the battery side, if we know that we will find LFP and NMC batteries from CALB, the capacity remains unknown. We could find the 800V batteries of 78 and 98 kWh of the G9, with their fast charge up to 430 kW. In any case, it inherits the semi-autonomous driving systems announced as compatible with the L3 level, illustrated by the LIDARs integrated in the side areas of the shield.
The Xpeng G6 will fall into a price range of 200-250,000 RMB (27-34,000 €). It will be one of the many novelties expected at the Shanghai Motor Show next month.
