On March 16, the French Federation of Vintage Vehicles (FFVE) planted the 100,000th tree of its “One tree for each FFVE certificate” program in Linas-Montlhéry.
The Linas-Monthléry circuit was enlivened with a unusual activity this Thursday, March 16. The action did not take place on the circuit but right next to it. Members of the French Federation of Vintage Vehicles (FFVE) organized the planting of the 100,000th tree in the reforestation program “A tree for each FFVE certificate”, on this site.
The tree planted in the center of the wooded area of the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry is an elm, recalls a press release from the FFVE. This essence has been selected for its use in covering the dashboards of prestige cars.
all about a prestigious routethe circuit in question having hosted many emblematic races (Bol d’Or, Grandes Heures de l’Automobile, etc.) since 1924. The objective of this campaign is to voluntarily offset the CO2 emissions of vintage vehicles. Witness Jean-Louis Blanc, president of the FFVE:
“This event at the Linas-Monthléry Autodrome combines rolling heritage, architecture and environmental protection. It is very satisfying to see that we are working for future generations through this concrete and precious help. »
100,000 trees in three years
let’s remember that 100,000 trees planted represent 104 football pitches reforested. One hectare of forest captures on average more than 1,000 tonnes of CO2 over 50 years. The FFVE planted 60,000 trees over the years 2020-2021 on nine sites, then 40,000 in 2021-2022, on 11 other sites.
Antoine d’Amécourt, President of Fransylva (the Federation of Private Forestry Unions of France), partner of the operation, details the choice of plots and plantation sites:
“We identify parcels among our members that have been affected by climatic hazards or in a situation of silvicultural impasses and we help the owners of our network to put together files to obtain this financing. »

For each planting, a plate “One certificate, one tree” presents the program and explains the action of the FFVE. And Daniel Sauvagère, project administrator, to specify the species and the planting periods:
“I choose files according to the location because we want it to be well distributed from a geographical point of view throughout the territory. »
