Rolls-Royce concludes the Wraith saga with a 12-piece limited series, the Black Badge Black Arrow. On the program, a specific livery for the last copies of the V12 coupé.
Marketed since 2013, the Rolls-Royce coupe bows out after ten years of good and loyal service. It will also be the last coupe to feature a V12, the brand having embarked on the all-electric path with the Specter coupe. For the occasion, the British manufacturer offers the Wraith a limited series, called Black Badge Black Arrow.
Only 12 of the Wraith Black Badge Black Arrow have been produced, with a specific two-tone degraded livery, with Celebration Silver and Black Diamond shades. A “Crystal” varnish is applied to bring out the gradient, while a texture inspired by the surface of the Bonneville salt lake (USA) is polished for 12 hours for a final glass-like finish. The set took Rolls-Royce engineers 18 months of testing and development, and makes the tint one of the most technically complex paintwork Rolls-Royce has ever created.
Yellow accents and references to Bonneville
To contrast with the dark hues, yellow accents are placed on the lower front fascia, behind the radiator and on the wheel centers. A tangy color that can also be found on board, with Club Leather front seats. The yellow continues on the armrests, the steering wheel, the transmission tunnel and the top of the dashboard. On the storm doors, the black wooden surface evokes the Bonneville salt lake. The dashboard pays homage to the brand’s legendary V12 with pistons engraved on an insert facing the passenger. A clock is also placed there, with an inscription of the speed record achieved in Bonneville in 1938 by George Eyston, aboard a Rolls-Royce Thunderbolt: 357.497 mph, or the equivalent of 575 km/h! Finally, the roof sky is obviously starry, this time with 2,117 optical fibers integrated into the ceiling light.
This limited edition Black Arrow is the latest Rolls-Royce to feature a V12. It is still the 6.6 biturbo with 632 hp. It will be produced by hand in only 12 copies. And for the most interested, know that Rolls-Royce announces that they have already sold them all to loyal customers around the world.
