ChatGPT is not only used by students and pupils for their writing work, it is also used by deputies, at least in France. To mitigate the scope of the surveillance bill by artificial intelligenceartificial intelligence concentrations of people during the 2024 Paris Olympics, parliamentarians asked for the first time the chatbotchatbot of OpenAI to draft an amendment. This was filed on March 14.
The amendment specifically targets Article 7 which deals with the use of AI-enhanced surveillance cameras. The application written by ChatGPT aims to strengthen respect for the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals and to include the supervision of humans at every stage of data processing. By using the chatbot, the elected officials wanted to show that an AI should not remain alone in charge to monitor as well as to intervene in the texts of the law.
