Bill Gates has just published a long billet on his personal blog to express himself on what he considers to be the second most revolutionary technology since the 1980s. For him, the first was in 1980, when he discovered the very first graphical interface. This is what gave birth to Windows and it is now found on all devices.
The retiree also explains that he has known OpenAI for a long time and he indicates that he was amazed by their evolution. He had made a bet with the organization. The idea was to ensure that GPT could pass a difficult biology exam. OpenAI achieved this in just a month, while Bill Gates imagined it could take years. By avoiding the dark side of artificial intelligence, he considers that they are the technological solution to all current challenges (climate, health, economy, education, etc.).
