Lexus will unveil an all-new SUV, the LBX, on June 5. The mystery remains on the engine: will it be hybrid, electric… or both?
The Lexus family continues to grow. After confirming that the new generation of the large LM minivan will be well sold here, the manufacturer announces the arrival of a completely new model. His name: LBX. A name in three letters which we are not used to at Lexus, but the L was surely added so as not to arouse the wrath of Citroën!
The brand does not give further details, but publishes images that reveal a little bit of the look, including a new interpretation of the firm’s grille, here surmounted by a chrome strip that links the optics.
With a name in X, we suspect that it is a new SUV. For the template, there is a good chance that it will be a small model, placed below the UX. This already stretches 4.50 meters, so there is room at the entry level. But will the BX be as small as the Toyota Yaris Cross, or will it be closer to the compact size? He would thus give an indirect relief to the CT.
The other big mystery concerns the motorization. We obviously think of the simple hybrid, a specialty of Lexus. But the LBX could also be offered with a 100% electric version, as the UX already does.
In short, a lot of unknown things! We will have to wait until June 5 to see everything and know everything about this LBX.
