A variation of its electric 4×4, this new Munro MK1 electric pickup is aimed at off-road capabilities for professionals.
Behind its hormone Defender look, the Munro MK1 conquered all-terrain enthusiasts when it was launched at the end of 2022. Despite its rustic appearance, it is indeed an electric 4×4 which is now available in a new version.
Munro presented the pickup variant in a conspicuous yellow paint, with “Raptor” technology that was supposed to last 50 years like the rest of the vehicle. It also retains all the features of the original model, including 84° attack and 51° flight angles. Practical, it accommodates up to 1,050 kg of payload and tows 3.5 tonnes (braked) in its most efficient version.
Because the MK1 offers three versions, including this Performance of 280 kW of power and 700 Nm of torque. The basic Utility version reduces to 220 kW and 600 Nm, enough to carry 1,000 kg or pull 2.5 tonnes. In between, the Munro MK1 Range combines the propulsion of the Utility and the battery of the Performance. With 75.8 useful kWh instead of 56.3 kWh, it would allow 275 km in mixed driving, against 204 km. Fast charging is possible, at around 36 minutes to go from 15 and 80%.
A very small production for Munro
This Munro MK1 electric pickup has already opened its orders, starting at 49,995 pounds, or approximately €56,500, excluding taxes. The brand specifies that it has received 200 orders, which would represent two years of production. Because yes, it has a very small factory in Scotland, the first automobile in the country since the closure of the Peugeot-Talbot site in 1981. The objective is to accelerate to reach 2,500 units by 2027.
However, Munro will also have to clarify the case between him and Bollinger. The American company is suing her for too much resemblance to its B1 electric 4×4. Bollinger however abandoned this model, to focus on trucks.
