8th part of our series devoted to used French cars that can be found for less than 15,000€. We are interested here in the second generation Citroën Berlingo Multispace on sale on the new market for 10 years (2008 – 2018). We list its strong points, its weak points as well as the most common problems encountered on this MPV available second-hand from 8,500€.
This second-generation Citroën MPV is all the more attractive as the current generation is only offered in an electric Ë-Berlingo version. Restyled twice, in 2012 and 2015, it receives, like its cousin the Peugeot Partner, the platform of the old Citroën C4 Picasso and Peugeot 308.
In addition to very soft comfort, both in terms of seats and damping, it enjoys XXL roominess. Offering up to 7 seats, it has a loading volume that varies from 650 liters at 5 to… 3,000 liters at 2. At 7, it drops to 100 litres. Rear accessibility is enhanced by its two sliding side doors, here as standard.
Driving pleasure and behavior remain fairly close to those of a sedan. We find under its hood the small 3-cylinder 1.2 liter PureTech 110 to which the big rollers will prefer the sober and torquey 1.6 BlueHDi 120 hp.
