Small refreshment for the Corsa. In addition to a revised face, the city car from Opel gains a new electric version, with more autonomy.
Appearing at the end of 2019, the sixth Corsa, and the first available in electric, arrived at mid-career. The moment of the essential restyling, which however turns out to be light on the aesthetic level. The most interesting is under the hood of the trendy version, which must now be called Corsa Electric and no longer Corsa-e.
What changes outside
The Corsa in turn adopts Opel’s new aesthetic gimmicks. At least at the front… and economically. To lighten the bill for the restyling, there is no question of touching the hood and the wings. The “Vizor”, this black mask which creates continuity between the grille and the optics, is therefore integrated in a simplified manner. The shield is new. The rest barely evolves, the most visible on the back being the new Corsa monogram in large letters. The color chart includes a new Gray Grafik shade.
What changes inside
It’s the game of 7 mistakes… and again. On the aesthetic level, you have to have a sharp eye to detect the revised steering wheel and the new gear lever. The Corsa therefore did not have the right to the “Pure Panel”, the two screens in a row. But the multimedia has been improved. The central 10-inch screen thus has new customizable displays.
What changes for the technique
There is more to be said for the technique of the electric version. There is now a double offer. The Corsa retains its old 136 hp engine and also offers the new 156 hp block signed eMotors (born from the cooperation between PSA and Nidec). While the 136 hp block remains coupled to a 50 kWh battery, the 156 hp is associated with a new 54 kWh battery. Thanks to this and work on consumption, autonomy takes a nice leap forward. It reaches 402 km, against 357 km on the classic version.
