The Gruau group has launched the production of intervention vehicles that will equip the squadrons of the Mobile Gendarmerie.
The mobile gendarmerie vehicles are renewed by Gruau, multi-specialist in commercial vehicle bodywork. The company won the call for tenders issued by UGAP (Union des Groupements d’Achats Publics) on behalf of the Ministry of the Interior.
So she goes equip 115 mobile gendarmerie squadrons. VMEs (Team Mobility Vehicles intended for intervention platoons) will be created in partnership with Iveco Defense Vehicles. VMGs (Group Mobility Vehicles) intended for marching pelotons are being built by teams from the Gruau group. These vehicles can carry six and nine military personnel respectively.
Immersion in the life of law enforcement
All copies will be assembled by a Gruau Laval production unit specially dedicated. More than 300 specific Gruau parts are manufactured, assembled and painted on site mayenne. The development was entirely carried out by the Gruau design office based on the specifications. All trades were mobilized.
To find out more about the life of the gendarmes, the teams of the builder-bodybuilder were welcomed by the National Training Center for the Gendarmerie Forces (CNEFG) in Saint-Astier (Dordogne). This which allowed to take the true measure of the reality on the ground and refine the solutions imagined by the design office.
Adapt vehicles to all requirements
Thus, the collaborators of Gruau looked into certification. The challenge was to find the right fit between the requirements of the Highway Code and the constraints imposed by the mission of maintaining order. They also designed and integrated the electrical architecture limiting electromagnetic interference.
The company also turned to Amefo for the ballistic protections (armor) that encircle the vehicle. The part polycarbonate glazing was entrusted to Comaplex and the runflat tires (allowing rolling even in the event of a puncture) come from Hutchinson.
What to create vehicles with impressive featureswhich are detailed below by Gruau.
