PUBLICATION EXPECTED IN JUNE, ONE MONTH AFTER THE VIDEO
Launched in partnership with Citroën, our mini-series “Ma vie en AMI” continues. This time, Automobile Propre went to meet Hugo and his father, Marc. Apprentice residing in rural areas, the young man uses the small electric car without a license for all his daily trips.
Marc lives in Sarthe, 30 kilometers south of Le Mans. In his small country town, a car is essential to be independent. So when his son Hugo started an apprenticeship in masonry at 15, he thought about a safe means of transport: “I chose the AMI for my son for the safety aspect, because here in the countryside, it’s complicated. There are animals. Winter mornings in the middle of the night are dangerous. With the AMI, it is sheltered from the rain, the cold, the wind…”
For the daily trips of his son Hugo, Marc has set his sights on the electric car without a license from Citroën
Independence within reach
The dad is reassured, and the son is delighted! Hugo is 17 years old and has been driving the AMI for a year and a half. Every day, he drives about 30 kilometers to get to work, see his friends or go to football training.
He recharges the AMI at home daily to enjoy it with peace of mind: “The AMI plugs in like a telephone, on a standard socket, and recharges in 2h30. When it’s 100% charged, I can commute any way I want all day, without stressing about whether to charge it. » A very appreciable freedom of spirit and movement for the teenager, who thinks of continuing to drive his Citroën AMI even when he will have his driving license.
A small electric car that hides its game well
To store his football equipment, transport his brother or a friend and even go away for the weekend, the AMI is definitely Hugo’s ideal sidekick.
Amused, he thinks back to his last camping weekend with his friends: “You don’t see it like that, but there’s plenty of room! With the friends, we went for a walk with the tent canvases and all the equipment, the AMI was full! »
Serenity at a reasonable price
Hugo’s parents opted for LLD over 4 years and are satisfied with this choice. As long as his son is a student, Marc also covers the electricity costs and the maintenance of consumables, such as tires. He declares : “After 18 months of use, we have traveled 12,000 km, which corresponds to approximately 160 recharges. The cost is still quite reasonable. »
Hugo’s little brother, who already uses the Citroën AMI, will also benefit from it when he begins his apprenticeship… A real family story!
