Summer is fast approaching. Also, car manufacturers are currently initiating the fifth in terms of new product presentations before going into “hibernation” mode (quite relative for some of them) in July and August. Add to that the fact that our in-house illustrator Julien Jodry isn’t lacking in inspiration at the moment and it makes for another particularly rich week in terms of product news (one more!). Come on, we decided to be nice to you, here’s what you shouldn’t miss…
Aston Martin DB12
Bis repetita (yes, we have the impression of starting the same way every week…), we start with the heavy, a new Aston Martin model, the DB12. Very, very close aesthetically to its predecessor, the DB11, it only shares with it 20% of parts, according to the engineers. To see the evolutions, it is preferable to look at it from the front since its enlarged grille brings it closer to the DBS or even to sit on board. In the cabin, for once, the English made a big leap towards modernity. New, there is also under the hood.
But we won’t tell you more, we leave you the pleasure of discovering and enjoying the result:

BMW 5 Series/i5
The BMW 5 Series is no more, long live the BMW i5 and… the new 5 Series. surprising indeed if you know the names of the zero emission models of the German brand), the only one officially unveiled this week. Do not run away, there will be many thermal versions from the launch (520i and 520d), they will nevertheless be associated with a micro-hybridization. Yes, electrification is gaining ground, you will understand. Last example, there will also be rechargeable hybrid variants later, starting with… the future M5, sacrilege!

Citroën C4 Family Cross
According to the latest rumors, the replacement for the Citroën C3 Aircross could change its name by passing the torch to a whole new generation. And that doesn’t seem so crazy if we take into account that this future model should approach the size of the Indian model presented recently and come very close to or even clearly exceed the 4.30 m long bar. In other words, it would be closer to a C4 than a C3. The full name could be C4 Family Cross. The answer should not be long since the current urban SUV of the Chevron brand is no longer very young, which was launched in 2017. Its renewal could take place next year.
And if you’re wondering what this C4 Family Cross could look like, here’s our illustrator’s answer:

Dacia C-Neo
Like Renault before it, the future development of the Romanian manufacturer Dacia will go through a larger offer in the C segment, that of compact vehicles, on which there are already two representatives to date, the Duster and Jogger. Besides these, there will be an elongated and most likely 7-seater variant of the next Duster, the Bigster, foreshadowed by a concept in early 2021. Finally, there will be a more compact model later, a vehicle that could hesitate between several genres, a crossover if you will.
To know everything about this C-Neo project, it happens here:

DS5
DS3, DS7, DS9, there is a hole in the racket. Admittedly, the DS4 comes to break this numeral balance somewhat, but it is certain that it would be wise to have another model with an odd number coming to slip between the DS3 and DS7 SUVs. Precisely, the name DS5 could well make a comeback, and this, from this year. Be careful however, this new version would have nothing to do with the previous one, this time it would be an SUV-coupé, it is more in tune with the times. The lines of the Aero Sport Lounge concept will undoubtedly inspire the production version.

Lexus LBX
No, don’t expect to discover the definitive look of this future Lexus model, which will finally fill the void caused by the disappearance of the compact CT sedan. This LBX will only be revealed on June 5. His name, however, is recorded. So no, while he thought that this vehicle could adopt the BX name, it will not. No doubt not to have to encounter legal setbacks with Citroën, the Japanese brand has opted for an additional letter, which makes this Lexus the only one to bear a name composed of three letters. This is a very unique way to get noticed!
And on the look side, from what we know, it will also have nothing to do with the Chevron sedan. The proof based on the few elements we have to date:

Opel Corsa
The Corsa denoted with the rest of the Opel range (except Combo) with its look not respecting the latest stylistic canons in force, that is now a thing of the past. The hour of the mid-career restyling has come and it resumes without much surprise the so-called Vizor grille introduced by the latest generation Mokka. However, apart from the front, you will need to equip yourself with a magnifying glass to identify the changes compared to the old version everywhere else. Same inside where, while even the Grandland dashboard had been deeply revised at the time of the mid-life facelift to draw inspiration from that of the Mokka (still him), the Corsa does not take advantage of the double curved slab PurePanel, a bit of a shame. Fortunately, there is something new under the hood.

Mercedes Mini G-Class
You are a big fan of the G-Class and you would love to be able to have one in your garage but unfortunately it does not fit in your garage or in your budget? Mercedes has apparently heard your pleas since it is rumored that a reduced G-Class should join the range of the star manufacturer in the coming years. A rumor mentioned by our German colleagues from the media Handelsblattgenerally well informed…

MG4 break
MG has the wind in its sails… and the tide does not seem about to turn. It must be said that the first commercial results of the MG4 compact sedan are very encouraging. It’s a certainty, it will help the Chinese-owned British manufacturer to break new sales records in 2023. The success is such that it should be available in an estate variant, according to our colleagues fromAuto Express. Surprising when you know that the brand already has a model of this kind in its range, the MG5. But precisely, this future model could not be based on the MG4 but be a largely re-bodied version of the MG5. Follow very closely.
In terms of looks, here is a potential rendering:

Volkswagen Touareg
Between the first information that we shared with you exclusively last February and the official presentation that took place this week, you had to be patient to discover the restyled Touareg. The cousin of the Porsche Cayenne and flagship of the Wolfsburg brand only evolves by small touches. All the same, for the first time in Europe, because the regulations now authorize it, it benefits from a backlit logo, it has a small effect. For the rest, it is impossible to survive with more “traditional” engines, shall we say, it is only offered as a plug-in hybrid: a first of 381 hp and a second typed sport and badged “R” of 462 hp.
All the info and all the photos of the Touareg reviewed and corrected in our dedicated article:
