Tesla’s have always been equipped with games on their on-board screens. Thus, the drivers could have fun but at a standstill. Only here, a new update changes the situation and that does not please the American authorities.
The owners of Tesla were surprised to discover that some games were now available mid-ride. The Solitaire or many others, nothing prevents the driver from having fun at the wheel (if this is not a moral).
But you can imagine, it poses a problem of concentration and attention. If the phone is banned, playing Candy Crush should be too. This is logic and all this does not please the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) who decided to investigate. And this, following a video posted on Youtube which immediately attracted the attention of the authorities.
Faced with this new update, Tesla can try to defend himself thanks to the message posted when starting the games. The latter warns against the risks and asks that the player in question be only a passenger.
Yes but, how to verify this and above all, the driver may still be distracted by the game even if he does not play directly.
At any rate, the competent authorities will certainly continue their investigations in order to resolve this problem which could quickly become significant.
