The government has started distributing its € 100 fuel check to French households. Find out how to get it.
It had been announced a few months ago, in response to the discontent of the French about the rise in the price of fuel. In order no doubt to avoid a new crisis similar to that of the Yellow vests in 2018, the government then took the initiative to offer a “fuel check” to give motorists a little boost. And for good reason, last October, the price of diesel had soared by 9.7% in just one month, causing the annoyance of consumers. Good news therefore, the first beneficiaries of this “inflation allowance” amounting to € 100 have just received it, while the first payments began on December 13.
Help for all
As Budget Minister Olivier Dussopt points out, “ payments will start with scholarship students and will last until the end of February, for retirees “. In the meantime, it is first the private sector employees who will receive this aid, followed by those of public enterprises. In total, more than 38 million French people receiving less than 2,000 € per month will be affected, whether they are farmers, invalids, job seekers or the self-employed. In addition, this little boost, which corresponds to the additional cost generated by inflation on the budget of the French will be tax free.
No action is necessary to receive this aide, which will therefore be paid over time, by employers or various organizations, on the basis of income for the month of October. The government also specifies that ” employers will be fully reimbursed via payment assistance on social contributions and contributions paid to URSSAFs on their social declaration following payment of the allowance. The other organizations involved in the payment of the compensation will be fully compensated by the State. ».
