While the automotive sector is going through a major crisis and is changing, the government unveils its support plan for the sector.
We know, the automotive industry is not at its best, between the health crisis, the shortage of semiconductors and environmental standards, forcing manufacturers to switch to all-electric in the coming years. Faced with many challenges and difficulties, it is also changing rapidly, which obviously has a significant impact on professionals in the sector. This is why the government has just announced the launch of a vast plan to support subcontractors, employees and regions in the transition to a cleaner industry in particular. Set up as part of the France 2030 investment plan, this has several aspects.
First of all, 300 million euros will be released, in order to help subcontractors to diversify in favor of low-carbon mobility. Concretely, this fund will help the latter to develop and industrialize parts and products specific to electric vehicles in the coming years. In addition, strategic and operational support systems will also be put in place for no less than 200 companies in the sector, enabling them to better identify diversification markets and to set up action plans.
Support for regions and employees
But that’s not all, because this vast plan will also benefit the territories, which will benefit from an envelope of 100 million euros, allowing them to help them identify new pindustrial projects and support their development. Finally, no less than 2.5 billion euros will be allocated to the retraining and training of employees, in order to meet the new needs of the automotive industry, linked to electrification. Aid will also be put in place for those who have been made redundant as part of restructuring, so that they can benefit from training and support.
