They will soon appear in your mirrors… hopefully without flashing lights. Friday morning, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, handed over the keys the first Alpine A110s with two national Gendarmerie platoons.
In all, 26 vehicles will be dispatched throughout France over the next few months to replace the older Renault Megane RS. The first Alpine are currently leaving to join the platoons of Châteauroux (Indre) and Salon-de-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône).

On this occasion, Place Beauvau gave more details on the role of the “Berlinettes” in the fight against delinquency: they will in particular be responsible for track drug transport on the highway or chase excessive speeding tickets.
The Alpine A110s are manufactured in the brand’s factory in Dieppe (Seine-Maritime) and then prepared by the Durisotti company. the engine develops 252 hp and the advertised maximum speed is 250 km / h.
