Porsche is actively preparing the arrival of its restyled 911. Prototypes of the 992 phase 2 were crossed in Sweden during winter tests for the last tune-ups.
The current Porsche 911, christened 911 type 992, will receive some touch-ups for the 2023 vintage. Prototypes have already been seen on the circuit, in particular for a new hybrid variant. Today, the restyled 911 returns to center stage with new photos of prototypes in the snow.
Slight aesthetic changes
Focus prototypes were photographed in northern Sweden, with rather light camouflage. We therefore find the line of the current 911, which should not be jostled. Certain details make it possible to distinguish a Turbo variant, such as the fixed spoiler or the exhausts. The restyled version can be recognized by reworked optics at the front (but still with a four-point light signature) and enlarged air intakes. They seem to integrate movable fins to improve the aero. On the other hand, the fog lights placed on this prototype in a not very graceful way should not remain on the production model. At the front, we notice that the sensors placed in the shield are well uncovered, which suggests that Porsche is working on their improvement. At the rear, nothing changes on this prototype but there could well be surprises. No photo of the dashboard has been unveiled for the moment, but the interior could also receive some modifications to be closer to that of the electric Taycan.
A planned hybrid variant
On the engine side, the restyled 911 could also bring its share of novelties with a new hybrid variant. The prototype does not seem to be equipped with this engine, which could exceed the power of the Turbo S and its 650 hp. Porsche is not very talkative about this future variant, so we will have to wait for details from the brand in the coming months.
