The episode of ozone pollution continues in Marseille. With him, the differentiated traffic also continues, for a second day in a row in the Phocaean city. Some will therefore be forced to leave their car in the garage today, if they wish to drive within a certain perimeter of the city.
This concerns the oldest vehicles, considered the most polluting, according to the principle of the Crit’Air sticker. The Crit’Air 4 and 5 therefore do not have the right to circulate in a perimeter similar to that of the low emission zone (ZFE).
The latter concerns in particular the seaside and goes into the western part of the city. The Bouches-du-Rhône prefecture detailed this on Twitter, in order to inform users:
Episode persistence of #pollution from air to#ozone this Thursday, August 24.

Violators of this differentiated traffic rule are liable to a fine of up to 450 euros, according to the government website. The vehicle can also be immobilized.
Owners of vehicles classified Crit’Air 0, 1, 2 and 3 will therefore be the only ones authorized to circulate within this perimeter on this day. However, they will have to respect certain different rules, detailed by the prefecture of the PACA and Bouches-du-Rhône region on Twitter:
“The speed of circulation is reduced by 20 km/h on all the roads of the department, without going below 70 km/h. Vehicles transporting goods in transit whose total authorized weight exceeds 3.5 tonnes are not allowed to drive in the restricted area.”
To see how it will evolve. The authorities point out in any case that the price of the Crit’Air sticker is 3.11 euros (+ postage).
