Five rounds from the end of the championship, the 33rd edition of the Andros Trophy remains hotly contested.
Switched to 100% electric two years ago, the winter round has lost nothing on the spectacle side. Evidenced by the very close fight for the title this season. The five-time champion Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (Renault Zoé / DA Racing), winner on Saturday in Val Thorens and Andorra is tied on points with Aurélien Panis (Isère A1 / Saintéloc), Sunday winner in Savoie.
Recently crowned Alsatian sportsman of the year in recognition of his new title of world touring car champion, Yann Erlacher (AS01 / M Racing) reunited with the duo in Andorra, on a 40 cm thick snow carpet. During the super-final, the nephew of Yvan Müller (ten times champion between 1996 and 2006) was notably scrapped with door blows with Aurélien Panis, winning inside thanks to a muscular overtaking.
Often placed, but not yet winners, Dorian Boccolacci and Nathanaël Berthon remain in the race. Romain Grosjean – came in guest star on the first two weekends – managed to qualify for the super-finals on two occasions.
