At the end of its career, the Audi R8 however revamped its range with a Performance version for the RWD propulsion variant, which gained 30 hp.
Despite the end of its career, the Audi R8 is still in good shape. The supercar with the rings even gets a makeover before being replaced by a 100% electric model. It gains a new Performance variant for the RWD propulsion version. The V10 takes an additional 30 hp to reach 570 hp, transmitted only to the rear wheels.
30 additional hp
The R8 V10 Performance RWD is available as a coupe but also as a Spyder to enjoy even more the sound of the naturally aspirated engine placed just behind the passengers’ heads. This gains 10 Nm of torque to reach 550 Nm. The 5.2 FSI V10 engine is still mated to a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox. Audi announces 3.7 s to go from 0 to 100 km / h in coupe, 0.6 s more than the four-wheel drive variant. The maximum speed is displayed at 329 km / h for the coupe.
This Performance version replaces the classic R8 V10 RWD, strong at 540 hp, while the R8 quattro suffers the same fate and becomes available only in the Performance version. The Performance version of the rear-wheel drive R8 is distinguished by body-colored rather than black air intakes. It offers certain equipment as standard, such as variable-assistance steering or carbon-ceramic brake discs. On the price side, it starts at € 160,250, or € 10,000 more than the old RWD variant.
Audi R8 prices (December 2021):
V10 Performance RWD 570 ch
- Coupé : 160 250 €
- Spyder : 174 650 €
