Fuel prices: last hours at cost price at E.Leclerc

The end of August is approaching. With it, the end of the offer on fuels at cost price from E.Leclerc. Recently extended, it covered the weekend of August 18 and covers that of the 25, to come. A welcome extension for motorists, while fuel prices have been rising lately in France.

This reduction at the pump will be effective in 696 service stations in the network of stores in France. What to give nine weekends in a row to carry out this operation of fuel sold at cost price. The latter was introduced on June 30.

E.Leclerc wants to protect the purchasing power of motorists during the holidays

It was then a first, carried out during the long summer holidays. On the occasion of the extension, a few days ago, Michel-Edouard Leclerc recalled that his brand wishes to protect the purchasing power of motorists, during the entire holidays:

“It is a decision to protect the wallets of French people whose holiday budget is already heavy. We thought of carrying out this operation until mid-August. But while a good number of August motorists are still on the roads for the return of the summer holidays, I am announcing to you, on behalf of all the business leaders of the E.Leclerc Movement, that we are going to extend this operation on the weekends of August 18 and 25.”

Remember that this decision means that the stations do not make a margin on fuel prices. Witness, always, thehe Chairman of the E.Leclerc Centers Strategic Committee:

“For more than a month and a half, our 696 hypermarket service stations have been selling gasoline at cost price every weekend. That means they don’t take a markup on fuel, they don’t profit.”

Enough to allow motorists to save a little. However, this remains confidential, with a few cents saved per liter – which naturally remains good to take. In fact, such an operation especially allows those who set it up to increase the number of visitors to their stores.
