Up to 435 peak hp, all-wheel drive and a weight of 1,800 kg: that would almost look like the technical sheet of a super sports car from 15 years ago. Today, that’s what the MG 4 X-Power offers at an unbeatable price. And speaking of challenge, the sporty compact is now measured against a few references released before 2010.
The English specialists from Carwow have once again taken the path of a straight line to measure the performance of the MG 4 X-Power, compared here to a Lamborghini Gallardo (520 hp) and a Nissan GT-R R35 (480 hp) . Two lighter sports cars that caused a lot of ink to flow in their time for their outstanding performance.
The MG 4 X-Power also brakes harder
As usual, the electric fairy is formidable when pressing the accelerator from a standstill. An exercise well executed by the MG 4 X-Power, which delivers almost all of its power to post the best possible time. In the end, she completed the quarter mile (equivalent to the 400 m DA) in 12.0 s. Either a time identical to that of the GT-R, when the Gallardo comes dead last with a time of 13.0 s.
The MG 4 does not have to blush either in terms of recovery from 50 km / h, since it will not be overtaken by the Nissan GT-R far too many seconds later, at nearly 160 km / h. Finally, despite its greater mass and its more GTI than supercar definition, it has proven that it can brake harder! The balance sheet therefore seems particularly convincing for this sportswoman. It remains to know its dynamic behavior when the road turns, as well as the endurance of its performance: the civilian version has already shown signs of weakness in our hands by putting the battery in the ropes.
