News of the week
Let’s go for the product news of the week!
2/14

Aston Martin
DB12 Flying
Let’s start our panorama with a diva. The British brand could not afford to go empty-handed to Monterey Car Week, which ends like every year with the very exclusive Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. So it was very easy to reserve the presentation of the convertible version of the new generation GT signed Aston Martin for this event. Take the seductive coupé, remove the roof and you have this DB12 Volante.

Bugatti
Chiron Super Sport
Another manufacturer who could not afford not to go to California, to Pebble Beach, Bugatti goes without saying. So no, there was still no question of discovering the replacement for the Chiron. The participants were nevertheless able to admire a copy of this latest model all dressed in gold.

Julien Jodry
Citroën C3
Let’s come back to Earth for a moment with a vehicle that will be more affordable than it has ever been, this is the next generation of C3. A few weeks before its presentation, we share with you all the indiscretions concerning it as well as a visual showing what it should look like.

Citroën
Type Holidays
In addition to Monterey Car Week, the news is also marked by the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, the opening of which is imminent. Vanlife enthusiasts, more and more numerous these days, will perhaps fall under the spell of this Citroën SpaceTourer cleverly made up in Type H, which can now comfortably accommodate 4 people for a night in the beautiful star, or almost.

Ford
Mustang GTD
Discover our article
Do you like the Porsche 911 GT3 but it does not fit into your budget? Then you should appreciate the Ford Mustang GTD (nothing to do with Volkswagen diesel sports cars!), a road car designed for racing… uh sorry… a street-legal racing car. There is very little chance that she will land with us. Anyway, know that it should cost the United States the trifle of 300,000 dollars (about 275,000 €). Ah yes, sorry, it’s more expensive than a GT3 RS in fact…

Ford
Transit Custom Nugget
Another vehicle that will make its public debut at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon towards the end of August is a young old acquaintance, the Transit Custom Nugget reviewed by German specialist Westfalia. Just like the Type Holidays that we presented a little before, it can accommodate 4 people on board for the night. On the other hand, the look is all that is more modern. Its engines also since it can in particular receive a rechargeable hybrid option with the set seen on the Kuga PHEV.

Lamborghini
Concept Launcher
Get ready, Lamborghini will soon produce a 100% electric sports car. Soon, it’s easy to say, the Lanzador concept presented at Monterey Car Week will not lead to a production vehicle until 2028. It should be very close to this raised 2+2 coupé. Yes, yes, you heard right. In addition to the zero-emission engine, this Lanzador will be a small revolution within the Italian manufacturer’s range, which it will complete by being the 4th model, being able to accommodate more than 2 people on board while not being all quite an SUV.

Mercedes-AMG
New GT Coupe
Finally, after months and months of waiting, the replacement for the Mercedes-AMG GT, decked out with the same surname, is revealed in broad daylight. Unsurprisingly, it is, as we suspected, a coupe variant of the last SL. The look does not change fundamentally, the proportions yes, on the other hand. It can also accommodate like the roadster two (very) small passengers behind the driver and his passenger. For the moment, only two engines of 476 hp and 585 hp have been confirmed, V8s, phew! A plug-in hybrid option is not to be excluded in the future…

Mercedes
Restyled EQA and EQB
Yet rather recent, but quite logically because this has been the case for all small models recently, the EQA and EQB go through the restyling box. As often (always?) for a German manufacturer, it is better to arm yourself with a magnifying glass to identify aesthetic changes. And there are no more mechanical changes. Fortunately, autonomy is revised upwards.

Rolls Royce
Droptail
You have before your eyes what should be the most expensive new car in history. The price could rise to some 23 million euros. Yes, yes, you read that right. No, you guessed it, the Droptail will not be exhibited at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, it was the star of Rolls Royce at Pebble Beach.

Volkswagen
California Concept
The Volkswagen California will soon be renewed. While waiting to discover the production version, the German brand will present a concept at the end of August from which the latter should draw inspiration very closely. Two-tone bodywork, pop-up roof, numerous tricks and, for the first time, a plug-in hybrid option will be included.

DR
Nouveau Volkswagen Tiguan
VW was saving it for later. In this case, the idea was to present it at the next Munich Motor Show. No need to wait, due to a major leak, the third Tiguan of the name appeared to us in the simplest device during the week. Forget the rough-hewn lines of the second version, the newcomer dares a plump silhouette and takes up some of the stylistic artifices of ID electric productions.

Zenvo
New Aurora
Denmark is not known to be an automotive nation. However, there is at least one manufacturer on site, Zenvo. On the occasion of Monterey Car Week, he presented a hybrid hypercar with a radical look and impressive characteristics. Judge for yourself: its V12 6.6 petrol
associated with an electric motor of around 200 hp makes it possible to reach a cumulative 1,876 hp on the peak version (a more “reasonable” variant of 1,470 hp also exists). The top speed and the accelerations are obviously stratospheric, the price should be too, it is not yet known…

We warned you in advance. Because the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance was held last Sunday (the grand finale of Monterey Car Week, an event dedicated to sports and luxury brands), we expected the news to be marked by the presentation of a large number of exceptional cars. We were obviously not mistaken. But there was much more than that!
Supercars and hypercars do you want some here
Who says sports and luxury brands says exceptional vehicles at exorbitant prices. One model in particular will have surprised everyone on this last criterion by breaking a record. Finally, the official price has not been revealed, but it is almost certain that it will be necessary to sign an 8-figure check (!) to afford it. Next to that, an Aston Martin DB12 Volante, presented on this occasion, seems almost reasonable…
Cars that make you dream differently
In recent days, we have also been able to discover a number of more reasonable vehicles, although often not particularly given in their genre. Vehicles that don’t make you dream in the literal sense of the term, but in which you can take a nap… and dream. We are talking about converted vans. They have been in the news a lot in recent days. It’s normal, a dedicated show will be held at the end of the month with our German friends who love motorhomes. Let’s look at all of this together.
