Nio has ramped up production of its ES6 electric SUV. The model, which the manufacturer presented in May, could be crucial for its next few months.
The Nio ES6 is an electric SUV whose second generation officially saw the light of day in May 2023. The success of the model was immediate, with 30,000 reservations during the first three days of marketing.
These were converted into orders since by July, Nio was delivering over 10,000 ES6s. This accounted for more than half of Nio’s deliveries that month.
To compensate for this record, Nio accelerated the production of this model during the summer. Thus, the factories of the Chinese firm now manage to produce 300 Nio ES6 every day.
To achieve this, Nio closed all of its facilities for five days in midsummer. The manufacturer was able to upgrade its entire production infrastructure.
Nio has also doubled the time spent on this SUV, although it’s unclear whether that means hiring more people or making employees work twice as much. In addition, the production of the ES6 occupies the entire main building of the Chinese manufacturer’s factory.
