Already very efficient, turret radars have more than one trick up their sleeve. Discover their brand new functionality, which will make motorists tremble.
When they arrived in the country, we spoke of turret radars as weapons of massive verbalization, and as real war machines of repression. Capable of recording the speed, they can also detect the passage of a red light and it was also announced that they would be able to punish the use of the phone while driving, not wearing a seatbelt, not respecting safety distances or even crossing solid lines. For now, these functions are not yet available, but that is not why we should not be wary of these radars, while a new functionality has just been highlighted by our colleagues at Radars-Auto.com.
Even more efficient
You probably knew it, but turret radars can verbalize in only one direction but also in two-way traffic, on a two-way road without a central reservation. This has already been around for quite a few years, so no surprise. On the other hand, a new functionality has been added to these radars, which can now monitor the speed of vehicles in both directions, even on a road with a separation. How is it possible ? In this case, the cabin is then quite simply installed on the median, as is the case in Annemasse, the first town where this configuration was seen.
In this case, the radar must be installed well in the center, parallel to the two tracks. On the other hand, if you see a radar-turret on a central reservation but turned towards one of the two lanes, it is because the second in the other direction is not monitored.
