TotalEnergies continues to cap the prices of its fuels at €1.99/L in its French stations and intends to make this known. The tricolor company has reaffirmed its commitment to the purchasing power of motorists in France. This Monday, August 28, she recalled this commitment made at the start of the year.
The company spoke out in a statement, reports Reuters. She promises to keep them “until the end of the year”. “Today, 2,200 out of 3,400 service stations already benefit from this measure, since the price of at least one fuel is currently capped at €1.99/L.”
So it will last until the end of the year… and after? While fuel prices have risen this summer, they may fall in the near future. But further increases cannot be ruled out in the months to come. Especially with regard to fuel supply. Indeed, Saudi Arabia, for example, recently announced that it would reduce its production.
A measure in place since March
Remember that TotalEnergies implemented its fuel cap measure on March 1st. It remains to be seen how this will evolve, while fuel prices remain much higher than a few years ago. The fault of various elements (such as the war in Ukraine,…).
The government does not plan to put in place new aid for motorists. “We will not have new fuel checks” recently declared Elisabeth Borne. To see how this will evolve in the future and if the government will hold this attitude well.
