Unsurprisingly, LCR driver Alex Rins will not be present to compete in the Catalunya Grand Prix this weekend. Since the race at Mugello, the Spaniard has not returned to the handlebars of a motorcycle. As a reminder, he fractured his tibia and the fibula of his right leg during the sprint race on Saturday. Two weeks ago, during the Austrian Grand Prix, Rins appeared in his team’s garage with a brace. He doesn’t seem ready to get on his machine yet. As usual, WSBK driver Iker Lecuona will replace him. The ex-KTM Tech3 rider is starting to gain a lot of experience in MotoGP. This season, he has come to Honda’s rescue several times after Marc Marquez’s numerous withdrawals. For the moment, the return date of Alex Rins is not yet known. He is awaiting confirmation from the doctors and prefers to make his comeback in good shape.

“I’ll be back when I’m ready to. If the exams say I’m in good shape, that I can try harder while crying, I’ll do them. But if I’m last, I’m in pain, I’m increasing the inflammation in the leg, it doesn’t make sense.

Iker Lecuona will once again replace Alex Rins this weekend at Catalunya!
