The cockpit of the SUV could also be taken over, in part, by the new sedan.
Let’s not be afraid of words: to this day, Tesla remains untouchable on the electric car market as the Californian firm shines at the international level, under cover of a communication carried out with a master hand by the exuberant Elon Musk. However, the competition is getting organized and is starting to give the South African entrepreneur cold sweats. So much so that it has resolved, in recent months, to start a price war on many markets, in order to remain competitive.
An English brand to spread Chinese technology
But it is also from a technological point of view that Tesla could begin to feel the wind of the mill, in particular on the side of the innovations coming from China. A country at the forefront of research and development of ever more sophisticated batteries, like the national giant Geely, holder of the Volvo and Polestar coats of arms, for several years. A multinational which has also acquired Lotus in recent years, and which intends to convert the emblematic British craftsman into a spearhead.
Outstanding charging power
After causing a sensation with its SUV called Eletre, last year, Lotus will do it again in the coming days by unveiling the Emeya, a sedan aimed squarely at the Tesla Model S in view of its size. If the Sino-English is not intended to join the power of the Plaid variant of its American competition (1020 hp), it promises an equivalent or even greater autonomy (600 km WLTP minimum), but above all an exceptional charging speed, with a capacity of 420 kW, more than double that of a Model S (200 kW). What to consider recovering from 10 to 80% of battery level (112 kWh) in less than 20 minutes.
Lotus Emeya Award
See you on September 7 to find out about all the features of this new kind of Lotus. On the price side, the beauty could claim around 100,000 € at entry level, and nearly 160,000 € for its most exclusive version.

To sum up
If big names in the automobile like Audi, Porsche or Mercedes are struggling to hold their own against Tesla, Lotus could definitely agree all these beautiful people with these electric sedans with an incredible pedigree, expected on September 7.
