Zapping Auto Moto Restyled Peugeot 2008 vs Renault Captur: first static confrontation!
From the second version of the large SUV in the range, Kodiaq, and the next generation of the largest Skoda, the Superb, there is little left to discover. Their silhouette, you were able to appreciate it for the very first time the day we shared our first impressions at their respective steering wheels (here and there). In a new press release, the Czech manufacturer shares multiple shots this time revealing their dashboard with a very similar design. Here’s what to remember about them.
Almost old-fashioned ergonomics
The latest products from the Volkswagen group have been criticized for going a little too far in terms of digitalization, often to the detriment of ergonomics. Skoda has heard the critics. In the genre, an Enyaq was already doing better than an ID.4. The Kodiaq and Superb intend to return to an environment more reminiscent of the cars we saw a few years ago. We can thus adjust the air conditioning by means of rotary controls equipped with an integrated digital display in the manner of what we have seen on an Audi TT (we have seen worse as a reference). It will be necessary to check if they prove to be practical on a daily basis.
Naturally, typical Skoda tricks will be included. No one knows if we will find new ones like on the last Fabia but it is already recorded that there will be at least the umbrella in the driver’s door and the ice scraper placed at the level of the tank.
Finally, as always, the environment seems neat, the materials flattering, and it seems that the perceived quality of these two models have nothing or almost nothing to envy to that of their cousins from Volkswagen. As is the case for the Enyaq, customers will have the choice between several interior atmospheres, 3 in this case (“Loft”, “Lounge” or “ecoSuite” for the Kodiaq, “Selection”, “Loft”, “Lounge” for the Superb).
Presentation imminent but…
If these two vehicles interest you, don’t worry, you will soon know more about them. However, they are not expected to be presented at the Munich Motor Show which opens to the public next week. No official date has been announced yet, but the official presentation should take place in early fall: towards the end of September or the following month.
