The sales figures in Europe for November 2021 have fallen: four French people in the lead, the VW Golf out of the top 10, big box for the Hyundai Tucson …
In November, the French automobile market plummeted with a drop of 3.21% compared to the same period last year. The European market suffered the same fate, in particular because of the health crisis and production problems linked to semiconductors. Thus, the ranking of the best-selling models on the Old Continent has further evolved compared to the previous month and last year.
The #RenaultClio was Europe’s top-selling car in November, according to the latest figures from JATO Dynamics. There were less than 200 units gap between the 1st and 4th places in the ranking.

Four French women on the podium
For the month of November, we find four French cars in a pocket square: the Renault Clio, followed by the Dacia Sandero and the Peugeot 208 and 2008. These four models each posted just over 16,000 sales for the month. Where the Peugeot 2008 had taken the lead in October, it is here the Renault Clio which stands out very little, since there is less than 200 examples of difference between the Renault city car and the Peugeot SUV, placed in fourth position. However, the evolution of the models is quite disparate: the Clio loses 13 points compared to 2020, while the Dacia Sandero gains 6.
In the top 10 of European sales for November 2021, we then find the Volkswagen T-Roc, even though the restyled model did not arrive in dealerships, as well as the Fiat 500 which continues to receive public favor, even in its previous generation micro-hybrid version when the news reserves an electric motor. Then came the cousins of Stellantis, the Opel Corsa and the Citroën C3, each with just over 12,000 units.
Box full for the Hyundai Tucson, the missing Golf
The Hyundai Tucson has practically the same score as the Citroën C3, with 12,408 units, but it is its progress that sets it apart. The Korean SUV, in ninth place, increased its sales by 104% compared to the same period in 2020. This confirms the real enthusiasm for the model, which we meet everywhere in the street. At the end of the pack, we find the Dacia Duster in tenth place, with nearly 12,400 units as well.
Among the top 10, there are however a few absent. This is the case of the Volkswagen Golf and Toyota Yaris. The first has not appeared since October due to production issues related to semiconductors, but remains for the moment at the top of the European ranking from January to November with 190,483 copies. But let the German beware: the Dacia Sandero could well catch up and overtake it. On a good roll, the Romanian city car already has 177,953 copies sold between January and November. Just behind, the Clio, 2008 and 208 lie in ambush with 172,000 to 175,000 units sold.
