The Tesla Model 3 Propulsion and Grand Autonomy All-Wheel Drive are improving. Six years after the production of the first copy, the American sedan gains in refinement and again thanks to many changes.
These changes will be particularly visible from the outside. The lines are intended to be “sharper”, according to the manufacturer, with an aerodynamically optimized body to reduce air noise and gain efficiency. This is the case for the revised front bumper and rear diffuser, or for the new rims and hubcaps. The tires are also replaced by Eco rubbers with low rolling resistance to increase autonomy.
A new light signature is also making its debut. The headlights adopt a reworked and slimmer design both front and rear. The lights are somewhat reminiscent of the latest Skoda productions with a shape close to the pre-restyling but hollowed out in the center for a more modern effect. On the trunk, a new TESLA inscription in full replaces the brand logo. Two new colors are appearing, Ultra Red and Stealth Grey, dark and metallic.
A revised and more technological interior
On board, the dashboard also changes with new materials. Aluminum and “premium” textiles make up the majority of the passenger compartment, which can be lit by a light strip across the entire dashboard and the Volkswagen ID-style door panels. The new steering wheel directly integrates the turn signal controls, definitively eliminating the commodos as on the Model S and Model X. The front seats, revised, are now ventilated, while the rear bench seat can be heated. Rear passengers can now adjust the climate control and be entertained with a new 8-inch screen integrated into the rear of the center console.
At the front, the central screen still measures 15.4 inches but the borders are thinner and the customizable interface has been slightly revised. It is regularly updated. The audio system has also been reworked with 17 speakers, two subwoofers and two amplifiers on the Long Range version, or 9 speakers, a subwoofer and an amplifier on the Propulsion version. New microphones have also been installed in the cabin for telephone calls.
The Tesla Model 3 “Highland” (the code name of the restyled version) is already available for order on the brand’s website. In France, it is available from €42,990 excluding bonuses at entry-level propulsion, an increase of €1,000. The Long Autonomy version is displayed from €50,990, and is still outside the bonus spectrum. The first deliveries are scheduled for October or November. Tesla also specifies that the model will be exhibited next week at the Munich show, the presence of the brand in a motor show being rare enough to be underlined.
