Zapping Auto Moto Renault Rafale: first contact with the large SUV coupé from the Losange
Opponents of the A 69 motorway are talking about them again. This time, it is not via the courts and justice but in a slightly more cavalier way. This Thursday, August 31, they wanted to prevent the felling of trees in Vendine (Haute-Garonne). What create some tension with the police dispatched on the spot.
This took place during the night, since the concessionaire, Atosca, launched the works from the first minutes of September 1st. An operation planned for a long time, in accordance with environmental directives and authorized by the authorities, as the company did not fail to recall in a press release:
“In accordance with the environmental authorizations issued by the prefects of Haute-Garonne and Tarn, the recommendations of the health authorities and with the support of ecologists, Atosca will resume the forestry work necessary for the construction of the A 69 motorway.”
A start for the clearing work of the A 69
However, this is only a start. The works of “clearing and cutting of plants will be carried out between September 1 and November 30, 2023, a period of lesser sensitivity for wildlife”always affirms Atosca.
Still, the opponents of the project do not intend to let it go. Kept at a distance, while Atosca continues its operations, the latter intend to continue the mobilization. The La Voie est libre collective, which believes that the security conditions were not met, announced it in remarks reported by France 3 :
“The last plane tree in Vendine has fallen, in the midst of 200 gendarmes. The cuts were carried out in catastrophic security conditions. We will come back to this. There are still hundreds of trees to be saved. Be ready.”
Remember that opponents of the A 69 motorway project between Toulouse and Castres have recently been challenged by the courts. The latter had indeed seized the administrative court of Toulouse, within the framework of a summary-suspension. The goal was to suspend the work urgently, before a judgment on the merits, which would take longer to take.
They then decided to appeal to the Council of State, while proposing a surprising alternative. They are still hoping for a suspension of the site, pending this famous judgment on the merits. Let’s see how this case will evolve.
