This second and previous generation of Kuga (2013-2020) was offered, during the 2019 vintage alone – and therefore after the 2016 restyling – in a bioethanol version, called “Flexifuel-E85”. Equipped with a turbo with overboost, its 150 hp 4-cylinder turbo gives it very convincing performance ; it offers a choice of 6-speed, manual or automatic gearbox. In addition to a very competitive price-performance ratio, this family SUV is distinguished by its very balanced behavior, on the Focus 3 / Mondeo 4 platform, offering it a nice driving pleasure, as well as its very good comfort, both damping and soundproofing. Roominess and modularity are average for the category, while the equipment is very extensive (Sync3 multimedia, heated seats, steering wheel and windshield, etc.). Among the rare criticisms, a little “muddled” ergonomics with too many controls.

Good reliability, especially on petrol models; some reminders.
- Transmission : rare cases of an oil pump replaced under warranty on the automatic gearbox; faulty clutch plates (recall).
- Tires : sometimes rapid wear at the front.
- Some dysfunctions of the auto-lock. doors and trunk, and heated seats.
- Reminders : seat belt pretensioners, windscreen washer jets, oil sump.
