Zapping Auto Moto Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: contact with the 650 hp electric battery!
We have already had the opportunity to discuss this subject in the past, there are few innovations at Audi these days. The 2023 Munich Motor Show, which opens its doors today to journalists and tomorrow to the general public, is indisputable proof of this. However, if you are lucky enough to attend this event, you will not discover any new models. Not even the Q6 e-tron that the press could only half discover…
The restyled Q8 not exhibited in Munich either…
It is that it is still partially camouflaged. For the moment, the manufacturer has only deigned to lift the veil on its interior. For the exterior look, we will still have to wait until an unknown date. And so, this model will be replaced tomorrow by the A6 Avant e-tron Concept that you may have been able to approach closely in Brussels, at the very beginning of the year. Moreover, we could have hoped to find the restyled Q8 that the brand will nevertheless present tomorrow, while the Show is being held so, nay, only electric models have made the trip for the occasion (Q4 e-tron, Q8 e -tron, e-tron GT, Concept Activesphere). A way like any other to say that 100% electric is now at the heart of Audi’s challenges.
A model designed “from the inside out”
The Q6 e-tron will be a key element of this transition since it will inaugurate at Audi the brand new PPE platform designed with Porsche and which will benefit from the next zero-emission Macan. Which goes hand in hand with an unprecedented E3 architecture allowing this model to benefit from a fully connected digital interior and advanced functionalities. Nothing transcendent, however, Audi evokes a voice assistant with an avatar that can be controlled by the phrase “Hey Audi” (doesn’t that remind you of something?). More in line with the technological advance to which Audi has accustomed us, the Q6 e-tron will be equipped with a head-up display in augmented reality (optional).
One of the reasons why Audi decided to reveal the interior of its future newcomer first is because it was designed, to use its own words, “from the inside out”. In other words, it is a vehicle that we will particularly appreciate from the cockpit. The Rings brand promises it spacious. The first encrypted elements shared seem to attest to this… in part. The trunk volume is rather generous with its 526 litres. In addition, there is a small frunk (front trunk) of 64 liters. That’s good, but for a model that could equal or even exceed in dimensions a Tesla Model Y (4.75 m long), the latter does much, much better (854 liters at the rear and 117 liters at the Before).
The Q6 e-tron should nevertheless appeal to technophiles with its three screens at the front (37.3 inches in total!) including a 10.9 inch screen placed in front of the passenger which will be standard on all models, without exception. For the detail of the remaining characteristics (especially the technical specifications), it will be – as we have said – for later. See you in not too long, we hope and, tomorrow, to discover in photos (but not in real life) the Q8 reviewed and corrected.
