After its U8 SUV or its sporty U9, the BYD luxury brand has not said its last word. The next model is on its way and it will be a large electric sedan.
Its recent success gives wings to BYD, which wants to conquer all segments of the market. The group’s apparently bottomless pockets allow it to finance a multitude of projects, including three high-end brands: Denza, Fang Cheng Bao and Yangwang. The latter is the most ambitious and clearly targets high-end European references. Its U8 SUV intends to rub shoulders with the Range Rover, and the sporty U9 plays in the supercar segment with its 1100 hp. And it’s not over.
It is now a sedan that is looming on the horizon. Revealed by patent filing illustrations, it takes up the imposing light signature of the U9 and confirms a rather muscular profile. We should also mention the lidar on the roof and the mobile rear spoiler, two classics of Chinese electric sedans.
This sedan, which would take the name of Yangwang U7, should also display an impressive cavalry with 4 electric motors to shamelessly attack the Mercedes EQS, BMW i7, Tesla Model S, Lucid Air… Technologies aligned by others brand models, including DiSus air suspension or 4-wheel steering, will be there.
Its price should remain positioned at the top of the market, above 800,000 RMB (102,000 €)
