Currently 3rd in the MotoGP championship, the Bezzecchi clan is not happy. For two races in a row, the Italian driver has been taken to the ground by other competitors. This is not the scenario he hoped for at the start of the season. Since the start of the year, Marco Bezzecchi has been more comfortable and is starting to become consistent on his bike. He won two races at the Argentine Grand Prix and in France at Le Mans on the Bugatti circuit. The race weekend in Catalonia is to be forgotten. The driver of the VR46 is jostled after Bastianini’s fault at the 1st corner. Same scenario during the sprint race in Austria and in Jerez last spring. The Italian questioned the behavior of some drivers on the grid.
Marco Bezzecchi’s statement
“I was hit by other bikes, unfortunately. At the time I didn’t really understand what happened, I understood it better afterwards by seeing the images. I’m doing moderately well. I hurt my left hand. Especially in the thumb, it hurts me a lot. I also have a little pain in my right leg but less than in my hand, it’s the worst. For me, it’s mostly a matter of common sense for all of us. Martín did the same in Austria. Here, Bastianini, I don’t know where he wanted to go. There were five bikes and he was completely on the right with a higher speed compared to the four that were on his left and he thought it would pass, frankly… In my opinion, it’s not so much a question of harden the punishments, you have to figure it out on your own.”
