With the end of the sedan body for the new Passat, fans of notchbacks will have to turn to the ID.7 at Volkswagen. The large electric sedan, unveiled last spring, opens its order book this fall, with a rather steep first price.
The Volkswagen, which displays a size close to 5 meters, indeed starts at more than 60,000 € in France for the Pro version equipped with the entry-level Style finish. This is displayed from €62,650 on the French market. The Style Exclusive top finish is available from €67,990 with us. The sedan is therefore far from the maximum threshold to benefit from the bonus, set at €47,000.
Lots of standard equipment… except the heat pump
In terms of equipment, the Volkswagen ID.7 comes as standard with numerous driving aids and comfort features from entry-level: Travel Assist semi-autonomous driving with lane keeping and lane change assistant, Park Assist with 360° camera, heated seats and steering wheel, 15-inch central screen, autonomous emergency braking with detection of pedestrians and cyclists, 3-zone automatic air conditioning, 19-inch alloy wheels, augmented reality head-up display, etc.
The Style Exclusive finish adds matrix LED headlamps, the trunk with electric opening and closing, electric front seats with memory and massaging, tinted rear windows and even ArtVelour and imitation leather upholstery. On the other hand, in any case, you have to go through the catalog of options to add the heat pump (€1,150) or the Type 2 charging cable for a domestic socket (€230), or other packs such as the Pack Design / DesignPlus.
More expensive than its direct competitor
Under the hood, the Volkswagen ID.7 has an unprecedented 286 hp electric motor and a net 77 kWh battery. This allows a range of 620 km. For comparison, a Hyundai Ioniq 6 is displayed at €52,400. It is boxing in the same category with its streamlined sedan look and its 229 hp electric motor for 77.4 kWh of battery and up to 614 km of autonomy. The Tesla Model 3, just restyled and smaller at 4.72 m, starts at €50,990 with 629 to 678 km of electric range depending on the type of rims chosen. The Model S, closer in size with 4.97 m, is much more expensive with a minimum of €94,990 and 634 to 723 km of autonomy.
