Zapping Auto Moto Restyled Peugeot 2008 vs Renault Captur: first static confrontation!
If you have followed the auto news in recent days, you may remember the giant breakdown affecting Toyota in Japan. The company’s 14 Japanese factories were blocked by the latter for a day.
An extremely rare situation which gave rise to fears of the worst. Some believed that this was due to a computer attack. In the end, this was not the case and the reason for this paralysis is much more surprising. She even seems to smile.
A storage problem
The fault indeed comes down to… a simple problem of hard disk storage space. A problem that we have probably all experienced on our phones or computers. The latter was insufficient and led to the shutdown of factories. This happened during a maintenance operation. Deletion and sorting operations were thus carried out and went wrong. Toyota explained this in a press release:
“The system malfunction was caused by the unavailability of some of the multiple servers that handle parts orders.” “An error occurred due to insufficient hard disk storage space, causing the system to shut down.” “As these servers were running on the same system, a similar failure occurred on the backup device.”
Toyota will revise its procedures
It was therefore absolutely impossible to continue production. A major problem. Reason why the company intends to react. She claims to have taken “countermeasures”. Maintenance procedures will be revised to ensure that this no longer happens.
Remember that 28 production lines are located in the 14 Toyota factories in Japan. LToyota executives have already been forced to suspend the company’s production due to a cyberattack. This happened last year, for one day. One of the giant’s suppliers, Kojima Industries, was affected by this attack.
