Zapping Sports Auto Moto F1 Season Calendar 2023
Last weekend the San Marino Grand Prix took place and unfortunately, it’s the same observation for Fabio Quartararo. Unsurprisingly, the Frenchman had difficulty getting his bike to perform. Since the start of the season, the 2021 world champion has been lagging behind with his Yamaha. In the drivers’ championship, he currently occupies 11th place with 85 points just behind his teammate, Franco Morbidelli, as for the teams’ championship, the Japanese brand is in 6th place, far from its European competitors. Between 2021 and 2023, European motorcycles have gained a lead over their Japanese opponent. Ducati, Aprilia and KTM have progressed enormously in terms of pure speed. In each race, the driver from Nice is forced to push his machine to hope to climb into the points, but sometimes it’s too much and a fall is inevitable.
A turning point
Today Yamaha will test new components which will be on the 2024 bike. Fabio Quartararo has high hopes for this test. If there are no signs of improvement on the machine, there is a good chance that the Quartararo and Yamaha adventure will come to an end. The French rider recently spoke to Canal+ about the future of his career in MotoGP. He did not hesitate to put pressure on the Japanese team to quickly change the situation. Will Quartararo leave Yamaha answer in the days and months to come?
“It could change my career. Quite simply.”
