MG extends its social rent offer on the MG4 and extends it to the MG5 station wagon. The manufacturer also adds an LLD which allows you to keep the vehicle longer.
The MG4 is already attracting attention with its slashed prices, starting at €29,990. But MG struck even harder by putting in place a long-term rental offer at €99 per month. Implemented this summer, it was a success. The manufacturer has therefore decided to extend it until the end of the year.
Better still, this “social leasing” is extended to the MG5 family station wagon. In both cases, the conditions are the same. There is a 1st rent increased by €9,500, which the brand reduces to €0 taking into account the maximum bonus of €7,000 (for people whose reference tax income per share is under €14,090) and a bonus for the breakage of €2,500. Then there are 23 rents of €99. This is therefore an offer for two years and 20,000 km.
With the MG4, this price corresponds to the Standard version, with 170 hp engine and 51 kWh battery, giving a range of 350 km. The equipment is already generous, with for example adaptive cruise control, driving assistance in traffic jams, auto air conditioning, reversing sensors and even the 10.25-inch touch screen.
The MG5 at this price is a Comfort version with the 177 hp engine and the 50.3 kWh battery, for a range of 320 km. There is as standard navigation on a 10.25-inch touch screen, heated front seats, hands-free access, reversing camera, adaptive cruise control, etc. Its advantage is also a large 479-liter trunk.
The downside of these offers is the short duration, over two years. We have already been able to point this out for the MG4. The brand, however, indicates that it has heard requests from customers who wanted to commit to more. It thus adds a second possibility with these models: a 48-month LLD.
As with the 24-month LLD, the first rent is €9,500, which can be reduced to €0 with aid. Then it costs €149 per month. It’s more expensive, but you therefore keep the vehicle longer, especially since at the end of a LLD, you have to return it.
Which is a problem with the duration of 24 months to the extent that from now on, we can only receive an ecological bonus every 3 years. And on this point, big alert: made in China, the MG4 and MG5 should lose their bonus in 2024. It is therefore time to place an order.
