Zapping Auto Moto Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: contact with the 650 hp electric battery!
It is a radical declaration signed by environmentalist MEP Karima Delli. The latter wants the establishment of a special license to drive SUVs. Vehicles that it considers too heavy, too imposing or even too dangerous to be eligible for a simple B license.
She therefore calls for the creation of a driving license, the B+, which would be a European driving license. The latter would concern citizens over 21 years old. To pass it and become a holder, you would need to have at least two years of B license. She detailed her thoughts in a report:
“[Ces véhicules] don’t just take up more space and aren’t less efficient. When it comes to road safety, they are more likely to be involved in collisions than light passenger cars, with much more serious consequences.[Le permis B] is not entirely suitable for heavier passenger cars.”
SUVs are dangerous, not vans?
With this sesame, drivers would therefore be authorized to drive an SUV. Even though the B license allows you to drive much larger vehicles than most SUVs: namely, vans, among others. Although the latter are heavier than SUVs, they clearly do not pose a problem for the MEP. Logic ?
The latter, however, added that exceptions could be made for different reasons. This is for professional reasons, or if they concern emergency vehicles. Road safety with variable geometry.
The fact remains that this decision would have the effect of prohibiting young people from accessing models that are far from being SUVs like the Tesla Model 3, some of which exceed 1,800 kg. Projects that will certainly not fail to get people talking.
