A fire in a Tesla parking lot took place, destroying around fifteen electric cars. A group of activists claimed responsibility for the damage, the national news agency confirmed.
In March 2023, activists vandalized a Tesla showroom in Berlin, in opposition to the Gigafactory. It was once again in Germany that significant damage took place, the cause of which was arson.
It is not known if these are the same activists, but a letter of demand confirmed their responsibility. They attack Tesla and the image that the firm projects of the electric car, as well as Elon Musk.
“The company represents the ideology of green capitalism and global and colonialist destruction”can we read in this letter which accuses the concept of an electric car of being a “cynical lie”.
German news agency DPA confirmed that 15 electric cars burned in the arson attack. Initially, it was said that only around ten had been affected.
The firefighters intervened during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday around 3:20 a.m. They managed to bring the fire under control in just over an hour, as they declared it out at 4:30 a.m. They noted that no fire broke out again, contrary to one of the myths surrounding electric cars.
According to an anonymous letter, the burning of 15 Tesla vehicles in Germany was arson.
