Speeding at 193 km/h with a baby on board, the driver was “late to eat his slice of cake”

Placed on the edge of the RN174 near Cavigny, near Saint-Lô, the Manche gendarmes spotted a world champion this Sunday, September 10.

Having held a driving license for only a year, the 20-year-old young man was still in his probationary period when he was flashed at 193 km/h.

But if that was all there was to it… At the time of the incident, the driver was not alone in the car. He was accompanied by his partner and his baby aged less than a year.

The three of them were going to a family reunion. The driver then used this excuse to explain to the police that he was late. “to go eat your piece of cake”.

Arrested by the police, the young driver had his probationary driving license withdrawn on the spot. That’s to be expected, but he’s not ready to get behind the wheel again anytime soon and that’s probably best for everyone.
