Zapping Sports Auto Moto F1 Season Calendar 2023
Never before has a Formula 1 team demonstrated such domination. Red Bull is on a streak of 15 consecutive victories, a streak that began at the final meeting of last season, in Abu Dhabi.
In 2023, the Austrian team has won the 14 GPs contested to date, with 12 victories for Max Verstappen and 2 successes for Sergio Pérez. His control over the current year leaves little doubt about the outcome of the championship, which would allow him to win a 6th world constructors’ title after those acquired in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2022.
Score 43 points more than Mercedes
More than knowing if the Milton Keynes team can be champions in 2023, the question is knowing when they will be. Mathematically, the first window of opportunity concerns this weekend’s Grand Prix in Singapore, where its current lead of 310 points over Mercedes must reach 353 points to meet the target.
At the end of the race in Marina Bay, Sunday September 17, Red Bull will be able to take the crown provided they achieve a double and count on a serious misstep from Mercedes. For his part, Max Verstappen will have to at least wait for the Japanese Grand Prix (September 24) to have a chance of being titled, the most likely deadline concerning the following event in Qatar (October 8).
Red Bull world champion in Singapore if…
- Its drivers finished 1st and 2nd (43 pts) and those of Mercedes no better than 11th (0 pts)
- Its drivers finished 1st and 2nd with the best lap in the race (44 pts) and those of Mercedes no better than 10th (1 pt)
