The “Pole to Pole” expedition continues its journey across the world, from North to South. The Nissan Ariya driven by Julie and Chris Ramsey has left the United States and is heading towards Antarctica.

The Ramsey couple’s expedition began in April, with a departure from the North Pole. Their trip then planned to cover 27,000 kilometers in a Nissan Ariya modified for the occasion. After leaving the Arctic, they arrived in North America through Canada.

The Ramseys then moved across the country in the spring, as warmer temperatures improved the electric SUV’s efficiency. They then stopped in Portland, where their Ariya was one of the attractions of the Formula E race.

The only changes made to the SUV, the suspensions and the off-road wheels, were later useful. First in the Rockies, then in California, where the adventurers crossed the San Bernardino Mountains.

After a detour east to Texas, via the arid regions of Arizona and New Mexico, the expedition will venture towards Mexico. This will be a new step before entering South America. From there, the couple and the team following them in a more classic Ariya will head south, before returning to colder areas in Antarctica.
