We told you about it when the NHTSA (The US Highway Safety Agency) had opened an investigation. Well since then things have moved on and Tesla must therefore retract.
Indeed, about two weeks ago, some Tesla owners in the United States, had noticed a new feature. the “Passenger Play” allowed Tesla passengers to play while the car was in motion.
If this seems completely absurd to you, you are not alone and it is for this reason that the competent authorities have looked into the subject.
A spokesperson for the NHTSA therefore sent an email to the AFP indicating that: “In a new software update, ‘Passenger Play’ will now be locked and unusable when the vehicle is in motion”.

As a result, Tesla must quickly remove this feature with an upcoming update. But this is not the first time that theElon Musk deals with NHTSA.
In fact, American road safety is carefully monitoring the software. Autopilot and don’t forget to recall that in 2019, 3,142 accidents were caused by inattention while driving in the United States.
