A few weeks ago, Mini officially lifted the veil on its new electric city car, the Mini Cooper. Available in two versions Cooper E and Cooper SE, it is about to arrive in the network. In the meantime, the brand already offers pre-ordering on its website, which allows us to have a first idea of the price of the British-Chinese city car.
The new generation of electric Mini starts at €34,000 excluding bonuses in its entry-level Essential version and its smallest 184 hp “Cooper E” engine. This version displays 285 to 305 km of autonomy thanks to a 40 kWh battery, compared to 32 kWh for the old Mini Cooper SE. Including state aid, currently accessible subject to changes for 2024, the price drops to €29,000. It’s much cheaper than the old electric Mini, which had a much lower range (around 200 km) for at least €37,400. By choosing the 218 hp Cooper SE version equipped with a larger battery (54 kWh, up to 402 km of autonomy), the price increases by €4,000, or €38,000 excluding bonus. Even in its most high-end version, the new electric Mini retains the bonus since it is below the threshold of €47,000.
Four finishes in the catalog
The range consists of four finishes for this electric Mini: Essential, Classic, Favored and JCW. The details of the equipment are not yet known, and Mini only displays an idea of the colors, rims and upholstery available on its site. For example, the entry-level Essential has a very limited choice with two “colors” (beige or black), two types of rims and a single black fabric upholstery.
For the moment, these are only pre-orders, with a deposit of €250 requested by the brand, and refundable in the event of cancellation of the order. The final opening of orders should take place in October, with a more precise idea of standard or optional equipment.

To sum up
Revealed at the beginning of September at the Munich Motor Show, the new electric Mini Cooper is now available for pre-order. Which gives a first idea of the prices, with a nice surprise: it is less expensive than the previous generation, while offering more autonomy.
