Around three in the morning, French time. VR46 driver Marco Bezzecchi suffered a terrible crash during the qualifying session. He set off on his attack lap during Q2. At very high speed, he lost the front of his Ducati in the penultimate corner of the Motegi track. More fear than harm, the Italian had no injuries and qualified 4th at the end of the timed session. He was able to start the sprint race where he finished in 6th position just behind Johann Zarco. Watch the crash on video:
