Present at the Munich show, the Chinese manufacturer plans to quickly strengthen its range. Its arrival in Europe will take place with the installation of a factory on site.
In recent weeks, the Chinese manufacturer Avatr has increased its communications around the European market, with a notable presence at the Munich show and even at Milan Fashion Week.
Remember that this brand was born from cooperation between Changan, CATL and Huawei. The latter, however, is only a technical partner and does not hold any share in the capital, shared between the two other partners.
This sequence shows European ambitions, and beyond that the beginning of the internationalization of Avatr sales. Starting next year, the Chinese brand will begin offering its electric models, the 11 SUV and 12 sedan, in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Europe will ultimately be for later. Probably not before 2026. But by then the range will be expanded. We are now expecting a large minivan, and probably a less imposing sedan which would position itself against the BMW i4, the future Mercedes EQC and Audi A4, and of course the Tesla Model 3.
A landing in Europe delayed compared to what the presence in Munich suggested, but which will mainly be done with local production. Avatr intends to set up a factory on our continent, and has already chosen Germany. However, the precise location remains to be confirmed. Which could be done as early as next year.
The proliferation of electric models is not good news for manufacturers
