The 2022 edition of the Winter Traversée de Paris will take place on January 9. No less than 700 cars will cross the streets of the capital.
It is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated events for collectors and enthusiasts of all kinds. Twice a year, the Vincennes en Anciennes association organizes the Paris crossing, an event open to all vintage vehicles, which then takes the form of a merry procession crossing, as its name suggests, the entire capital for several hours. For this new winter edition, which marks the return of automotive events after a period of calm during the holidays, no less than 700 old vehicles are expected, between cars, motorcycles, bicycles and even tractors and buses.
Culture and monuments
Each year, the course changes and is unveiled the same day to participants in order to keep a little surprise and mystery. Nevertheless, we already know that the theme of this winter crossing of Paris will be “places of worship and culture”, with stops planned in front of several emblematic or lesser-known religious monuments, such as the Sacré-Coeur, Notre-Dame or the Holy Trinity, among others. The start will be given from 7 a.m. from the forecourt of Vincennes castle, but will last until about 9 o’clock, as the procession is long.
If you don’t have any qualifying cars, don’t panic! You can also follow the convoy on the side of the road or by going to one of the great places of Paris such as Concorde or Vauban, where you will be sure to come across beautiful old ones. It is also possible to take a seat in a vintage bus for 10 €, which will allow you to follow the entire ride.
